Problem Note 2976: ERROR: <by-increment> is not a valid increment for the type of format
specified
The following error may occur when attempting to specify the value YEAR2
as the by-increment for the ORDER of AXIS VALUES field under AXIS
OPTIONS when producing a high resolution plot using SAS/ASSIST:
ERROR: year2 is not a valid increment for the type of format
specified.
The error is most likely to occur when specifying date by-increments
that are followed by numbers, such as YEAR2, DAY3, WEEK2, and MONTH2.
The error does not occur with date by-increments that are not followed
by numbers, such as YEAR, DAY, WEEK, and MONTH.
To circumvent the problem from within SAS/ASSIST, provide a list of date
values on the ORDER of VALUES list.
To circumvent the problem from the SAS Program Editor, recall source
code, modify the ORDER= option on the AXIS statement, and resubmit the
code.
