Problem Note 2398: Invalid data error when entering data formatted with the TIMEw. or
DATETIMEw. formats
If you attempt to enter or modify time or datetime values in the FSVIEW
window, a Data Table object in a AS/AF FRAME entry, or in table-view
mode of the VIEWTABLE window, you may receive the following error
message:
ERROR: Invalid data was entered. Please specify another value.
The problem occurs when the length of the data entered is considered to
be an invalid width for the current format and informat. This can occur
in the following situations:
1. In a Data Table object or in table-view mode of the VIEWTABLE
window when you assign a missing value to a column to which
the DATETIMEw. format and informat have been applied.
2. In a new row created within the FSVIEW window, a data table
object, or table-view mode of the VIEWTABLE window when you
attempt to assign the value 0:0 to a column with the TIMEw.
format and informat applied.
To avoid this problem, use the FSEDIT window, a Data Form object in a
SAS/AF FRAME entry, or form-view mode of the VIEWTABLE window to enter
and/or modify such time or datetime values.
