Problem Note 1652: Single character data values may not be visible in Data Table or
VIEWTABLE
Single character data values may appear to be missing (blank) in the
VIEWTABLE window or in a data table object within a SAS/AF FRAME entry
when the column's width is not wide enough to display the letter. This
should only happen when the label for the column is just a single
character and the width of that single character is narrower than that
of the single character data value. If you edit the data value, the
character may become partially visible when that cell becomes active.
Column width in both data table and the VIEWTABLE window is based on
font and the width of certain characters within that font. Starting in
Version 7, the font for column label text is the system font. If your
font setting is a monospace font, you should not experience this
problem.
To circumvent this problem, you can use a monospace font for your system
font. Otherwise, to view these data values, expand the width of the
column by either associating a format to the column or by grabbing the
right-hand edge of the column's label cell and dragging it to the right.
