Usage Note 302: Information on when SAS/FSP Software is needed
SAS/FSP Software is required to run the SAS/FSP procedures FSEDIT,
FSBROWSE, FSVIEW and FSLETTER.
The FSLIST procedure is now part of Base SAS Software so it does not
require a license for SAS/FSP.
Within SAS/ASSIST Software, if you wish to browse or edit data under
Data Management, the FSEDIT or FSVIEW windows are used; thus, browsing
or editing data in SAS/ASSIST requires a SAS/FSP license.
Within SAS/AF Software, SAS/FSP is required if you invoke the FSEDIT,
FSVIEW, or LETTER CALL routines in SAS Component Language (SCL). There
are no SAS/AF widgets or objects that require SAS/FSP. This means
SAS/FSP is not required for data form, data table, catalog entry viewer,
or external file viewer. Since the VIEWTABLE window uses the same
classes as data table and data form use, it does not require SAS/FSP.
The VIEWTABLE window cannot be displayed on a mainframe so if you
attempt to open the VIEWTABLE window there, it defaults to FSVIEW which
requires a SAS/FSP license.
