Statement of Support for CMS
March 2006SAS will continue to provide technical support for SAS 8.2 on CMS as decribed below. Through December 31, 2006, Level B support will be provided. This includes:
- Free support by phone, e-mail or the Web.
- Investigation by Technical Support of all reported problems; circumventions provided where possible.
- Zaps, patches and source level maintenance (executable modules or hot fixes) may be provided for selected critical problems.
- Problem alert notifications will be distributed via e-mail to notify customers of problems involving data integrity or incorrect statistics.
Effective January 1, 2007, we will move to Level C support for SAS on CMS. We will continue to provide free technical support and will investigate reported problems on a limited basis, providing circumventions where possible. However, new zaps, patches or source level maintenance will not be provided, and problem alert notifications will no longer be distributed.
SAS continually monitors the worldwide market for operating system viability to ensure that our products are available across the most commonly accepted operating systems. To assist our customers with migration to another platform, we offer the following:
- A mirror copy of your existing SAS software on the SAS®9 platform of your choice for 120 days.
- Migration to an operating system of your choice at renewal fees only (no first year fees will be charged).
- If needed, SAS will provide free of charge, a 120-day license of SAS/CONNECT for one or both machines to assist in the movement of data, programs, etc. from machine to machine.
