SAS® Risk Management for Insurance

Insurance companies can understand their risk exposures, quantify risks facing the company and assess the capital required to maintain desired solvency levels. SAS Risk Management for Insurance provides an integrated framework for valuing assets and liabilities, analyzing risks and calculating risk capital. It consists of applications that can be separately licensed and installed, including SAS® Firmwide Risk for Solvency II, SAS® Firmwide Risk Management for Insurance, SAS® Market Risk Management for Insurance, SAS®Underwriting Risk Management for Life Insurance, and SAS® Underwriting Risk Management for P&C Insurance.

What’s New

  • The solution supports group associations, providing a more realistic depiction of the structure of your entity. Adjustments can be made for reinsurance contracts between groups. The solution supports dynamic specification of instrument types for third-party cash flows.
  • The SAS Risk Reporting Repository has been customized to work specifically with SAS Risk Management for Insurance. Support is offered for many of the quantitative report templates (QRTs) from the EIOPA public consultation.
  • The solution supports a large number of new or extended calculations. Highlights include calculation of: health solvency (including a health catastrophe risk component), counterparty risk, group solvency, risk margin, and an own funds aggregation.
