In order for your group to take advantage of the support and resources offered by SAS^®, your group must first be registered as an official SAS users group.

To register, please read the Terms and Conditions below and acknowledge that your group agrees to adhere to the policies as outlined in this document. Local SAS users groups may register with SAS at any time, and we require groups to renew their registration on an annual basis. Please transition this document to all users group volunteer board of leaders to ensure all individuals are fully aware of the Terms and Conditions the group has agreed to adhere to.

-To exist to serve users within a specific, defined geographic location, typically within a 50-mile radius of the group's primary meeting city as designated by SAS. In low-density population areas, working with SAS, groups may exist to serve larger geographic areas as mutually agreed upon between SAS and the group. -To open membership in the users group to all SAS software users living or working in the group's geographical area. -To be led by a volunteer board of leaders, one of whom is designated by the group to serve as a primary contact for SAS. Leadership opportunities in the group should be equally available to all members. -To ensure that all users group policies and activities reflect a spirit of fair play and professionalism. Furthermore, group leaders agree that group policies and activities will be free from bias, discrimination and harassment of any kind, either explicit or implicit. -To use any funds raised through group activities to benefit the registered users groups membership, ensuring that group leaders or individual members do not profit from users group activities. -To work cooperatively with other recognized SAS users groups. -To work through designated SAS users group support staff to request any and all support needs from SAS. No other SAS staff, including SAS sales staff, should be contacted directly to provide support. -To use SAS trademarks correctly and appropriately. This includes adhering to SAS conventions for using the word "SAS" in the name of users groups and following SAS Institute's trademark guidelines provided at www.sas.com as amended from time to time. All uses of SAS trademarks by your users group, including use of the name "SAS" in the users group name, shall inure to the exclusive benefit of SAS. Notwithstanding any other provision herein to the contrary, users groups must obtain the prior written consent of SAS to use any SAS trademark, including "SAS," in a World Wide Web, intranet or e-mail address, and all such uses must terminate upon the written request of SAS. -To keep designated SAS users group support staff informed of the group's activities and include SAS (ugsupport@sas.com) on group e-mail messages and newsletters. -To provide your membership/attendee list within two weeks of the users group meeting for which you have requested SAS support. List should include first and last name, company name and e-mail address and be submitted via ugsupport@sas.com. (Note: This information will be used for promotion of future users group activities and the attendee can opt-out at any time.) -To not engage with any third-party (e.g. sponsor, speaker, or exhibitor) in connection with any users group event that is a competitor of SAS, as determined at SAS' discretion. -To ensure that no consulting services relating to SAS® software will be offered by the users group.(Note: This is in no way meant to discourage the group from offering of training courses, publishing articles, or sharing of tips and best practices.) SAS' support is conditioned upon the following: -SAS assumes no responsibility for the actions or omissions of any Local SAS users group. -SAS reserves the right to change or terminate its Local SAS users group program in its sole discretion. -SAS reserves the right to the following with regard to promotional services provided by SAS: -The final right to determine the target audience based on SAS' propriety contact lists and other business factors. -The right to deny inclusion of third-party ads or third-party vendor training. -SAS shall not be responsible for misdirected, lost, undelivered or late promotions. -SAS reserves the right to terminate support and recognition of any users group which, in SAS' opinion, is not fully meeting any of the obligations set forth above.
