The following SAS training courses deal with scalability and performance. As new courses that deal with scalability and performance are developed, they will be added to this site as well as to the SAS Training location.
Course DescriptionThis two-day course teaches you how to implement your SAS applications to execute across machines and operating systems. The processing can occur sequentially or in parallel. Capability has been added in SAS Version 8 to enable your SAS jobs to take advantage of SMP hardware (scale up) and to perform parallel processing across the remote hosts in your network (scale out) and significantly reduce overall execution time. This capability, called MP CONNECT, enables you to perform disjoint units of work in parallel and to coordinate all results into your original SAS session for the purpose of reducing the total elapsed time necessary to execute a particular application. This course covers the types of applications that could benefit from this technology and the details on how to make it work for you. Some new SAS System 9 features regarding threading and pipeline parallelism are also included.

We at SAS have created the Scalability Community to make you aware of the connectivity and scalability features and enhancements that you can leverage for your SAS installation. The success of this community depends on you. Send electronic mail to scalability@sas.com with your comments, requirements, and suggestions.
