Identifying a remote SAS server

You must provide the following information to identify a SAS server.

Data Source

 

Set this to any string (except _LOCAL_) that you want to associate with the connection. When you export data from ArcMap to a SAS data set, this string is displayed to remind you of which SAS server you are connected to.
User ID If you are connecting to a secure SAS server, then enter your log in identification.
Password Enter the password for the user ID that you entered.
By Logical Name   (This field is not used by SAS Bridge for ESRI)
SAS Logical Name

Do not use this field. (It is relevant only when connecting to a server whose name is defined in an LDAP server.)

SAS Machine DNS Name

 

 

Enter the network DNS name or the IP address of the SAS server.

  • A sample DNS name is sasserv.us.example.com.
  • A sample IP address is 120.10.0.1 .

SAS Service Name/Port

 

 

Enter either the TCP/IP port number of the remote server, or the logical reference to the port that is associated with the remote server.

  • A sample port number is 5991.
  • A sample service name is SASService.
