Base SAS

Experimental ODS Statements in SAS 8

Experimental Software is released "into the wild" before we have put it through our vigorous QA process. We'd love for you to experiment with it and give us your feedback, but please don't rely on it in your production applications. Perhaps you were more interested in new production features in Release 8.2 SAS Software.

There are several experimental ODS drivers that ship with Version 8 Base SAS Software. Learn about our plans for other destinations for your ODS output.

These include:

ODS RTF file="...";

A driver that produces Microsoft Rich Text Files. RTF is the next ODS format we hope to have in production - we had hoped to have experimental software available to download in 1Q2000, but are sorry to report that you'll have to wait for the production RTF driver in Release 8.1...

The good news is that Release 8.1 is now shipping - have your site representative contact SAS Technical Support.

ODS XML file="...";

A driver that produces XML. For more information, please click here.

ODS PRINTER;

This driver is production in Version 8, and runs on all platforms. For more information, please click here.

ODS HTML STYLESHEET ... ;

The ability to use HTML CSS (Cascasding Style Sheets) is an experimental feature of the ODS HTML driver. For more information, see the SAS online documentation.

ODS LATEX file="...";

A driver that produces versions of your SAS Output marked up using Latex.

ODS MARKUP file="...";

A driver that produces XML and many other flavors of "marked up" documents. For more information, please click here. This driver is new with Version 8.2.
