Base SAS

The Tone of These Pages

You might notice that the tone and style of the writing in the Base SAS Focus Area is a little less formal than other parts of the sas.com Web site. Why is this?

We have tried to build on the successful interactions observed between SAS Institute R&D Staff and our customers when they mingle at SAS Global Forum and other user group functions. Demo Rooms, Formal Demo Theaters, Mixers and plain old "chats in a hallway in between papers." Even when there are no libations in hand, good interchanges between folks who work for SAS Institute and our customers are almost universally characterised by the friendly, low-key way ideas are bantered back and forth.

We want this part of the Web site to be a continuation of this. Frankly, we get great ideas for our software this way. Please don't hesitate to send in your comments.
