HPPRINCOMP

The HPPRINCOMP procedure is a high-performance version of the PRINCOMP procedure in the SAS/STAT software. The HPPRINCOMP procedure conducts principal components analysis and provides iterative methods to calculate the principal components. PROC HPPRINCOMP runs in either single-machine mode or distributed mode. The procedure enables you to do the following:

  • performs principal component analysis on the input data set
  • creates output data sets that contain eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and principal component scores
  • write SAS DATA step code for computing the principal component scores to either a file or catalog entry
  • performs BY group processing, which enables you to obtain separate analyses on grouped observations
  • performs weighted analysis
  • supports BY group processing, which allows separate analyses on grouped observations
  • creates a SAS data set that corresponds to any output table
  • specify performance options for multithreaded and distributed computing
