Version 8 of the SAS System brings major enhancements to the statistical software. All output is now handled by the Output Delivery System, which gives the user control over the printing of results, enables you to output tables and statistics to SAS data sets, and produces output in a variety of formats including HTML.
SAS/QC software provides updates to existing procedures. The CAPABILITY procedure now supports fitted Johnson distributions. The PARETO procedure has been extended to create horizontal Pareto charts. In addition, several options have been added to customize graphics output produced by the procedures.
In Version 8, the ADX Interface has been enhanced in several ways. Mixture designs have been extended to include constraints to restrict the region of experimentation. A simple grid search is available to perform a numerical optimization of response variables, and methods are now available to augment a design. N-way effects plots and 3-D surface plots are two new interactive graphical displays available.
The ADX Interface is a point-and-click interface for the design and analysis of experiments. It is designed primarily for engineers and researchers who require an interface for each stage of the experimental process, from building the designs and determining significant effects to optimization and reporting. The production release of the ADX Interface is available for Version 8 for Windows 95, Windows NT, UNIX workstations, OpenVMS Alpha, VMS VAX, and OS/2. New enhancements in Version 8 include constrained mixture designs, numerical optimization, 3-D surface plots, design augmentation, canonical analysis, and n-way effects plots. A production release of the ADX Interface is also available for download as an add-on to Release 6.12 of the SAS System for Windows 95 and Windows NT.
