Survival Analysis

Life Tables

Survival distribution plotThe Life Tables task computes nonparametric estimates of the survival distribution of data that may be right censored due to withdrawals or termination of the study. For such data, you know only that the lifetime exceeded the supplied value. You can use either Life Table or Product-limit estimation and compute rank tests and a likelihood ratio test for testing homogeneity of survival functions across strata. You can also produce plots such as survival functions, hazard functions, and probably density functions to help examine and compare the survival estimates.

Proportional Hazards Regression

The Proportional Hazards task performs regression analysis of survival data based on the Cox proportional hazards model. This semiparametric model is widely used in the analysis of survival data to explain the effects of explanatory variables on survival times. You can use five different model selection techniques and select from four different methods for handling tied failure times: Breslow approximate likelihood, Efron approximate likelihood, exact conditional probability, or the discrete logistic model. In addition, you can plot the estimated survivor function and save parameter estimates and model diagnostics to a data set.
