Projects

Project TreeAn Analyst project is a collection of results from analyses performed on one or more data sets, for example, the results of data analysis from a study that includes multiple data sets. You can save results individually or save an entire project so that you can access results and continue an analysis at a later time.

When you run an analytical or data management task, Analyst will add a folder to the Project Tree that contains the results, including analysis results, output data sets, graphics, HTML output, and SAS code. A folder is opened and closed by clicking the plus (+) or minus (-) sign next to it or by selecting the folder and selecting Expand or Collapse from the pop-up menu.

You can view a node within a folder by double-clicking on the node or by selecting the node and selecting View from the pop-up menu. You can view the same node in two or more windows by selecting the node and selecting View in New Window from the pop-up menu. From the pop-up menu, you can also delete, print, save, save under another name, and, except in the case of data tables, rename the node.

You can click on an output data node to open that data in the Data Table and then proceed to do further analysis. In addition, you can select Interactive Analysis from the pop-up menu to invoke SAS/INSIGHT software (if it is installed) to perform interactive exploratory analyses. Finally, you can set preferences for whether nodes for HTML output and SAS code appear in the Project Tree. The code is produced for any task that you apply to your data in Analyst, and you can view and save the code or copy it directly to the program editor.
