Exercises and Projects for The Little SAS Book, Fifth Edition
978-1-62959-655-6

"This supplement to The Little SAS Book, Fifth Edition by Susan Slaughter and Lora Delwiche is one of those books that the user community has been longing for. For this book of exercises, the Slaughter/Delwiche team has been joined by Cal Poly Professor and SAS Instructor Rebecca Ottesen.

"Exercises and Projects for The Little SAS Book, Fifth Edition contains a nice variety of questions and exercises that will both challenge and assist users that are either new to SAS or are brushing up on their SAS skills - perhaps in preparation for a Base SAS Certification examination. Organized by chapters, which are synced to The Little SAS Book, Fifth Edition, the questions are made up of multiple choice, short answer, and programming exercises. Answers are provided for the multiple-choice and short answer questions (although in true academic style, only for the odd numbered questions). For each of the programming tasks or projects, a hint is provided (fortunately for both the even and odd questions).

"The Little SAS Book series has long been a favorite way of introducing users to SAS. Now those users of The Little SAS Book, Fifth Edition can not only test their understanding, but hone their skills as well by using the Exercises and Projects for The Little SAS Book, Fifth Edition. If you intend to use The Little SAS Book to learn SAS, you really should use this companion book to make sure that you are getting full value from your learning efforts."

"Following the great success of The Little SAS Book, both new and experienced SAS programmers can now take advantage of the companion exercises and projects workbook to reinforce their SAS knowledge. From getting data into SAS, reporting and statistical analysis to advanced SAS macro programming, there are numerous practical questions, exercises and projects included in the book.

"Each chapter has three sections: multiple-choice questions confirm key SAS points, short answers allow you to explore SAS programming techniques, and projects allow more time to master SAS concepts. One approach may be to answer the chapter questions and then complete short answers if you missed several questions. When combined, these three methods help users write smarter SAS programs, take advantage of SAS options and SAS procedures, as well as take less time to debug programs."
