Society for Technical Communication (STC) Award Winners, 2015-2016

STC logo The Society for Technical Communication (STC) advances the theory and practice of technical communication across all user abilities and media so that both businesses and customers benefit from safe, appropriate, and effective use of products, information, and services.

STC Carolina Chapter Award of Distinguished Technical Communication

STC defines an Award of Distinguished as follows: Clearly superior in all areas. The entry contains no major flaws and few, if any, minor flaws. It applies the principles of technical communication in an outstanding way, particularly in the way that it anticipates and fulfills the needs of its audience.

Entries receiving an Excellence or Distinguished award are eligible for submission to the STC International Summit Competition. This is a separate submission process.

STC defines an Award of Excellence as follows: Consistently meets high standards in all areas. The entry might contain a single major flaw or a few minor flaws. The entry clearly demonstrates an exceptional understanding of technical communication principles.

Entries receiving an Excellence or Distinguished award are eligible for submission to the STC International Summit Competition. This is a separate submission process.

March Awards Banquet
The STC Carolina Chapter Awards Banquet was held at Prestonwood Country Club on March 10. In addition to several SAS employees who were present to accept their awards, Julie McKnight and Brenna Leath were present to accept their Distinguished and Best in Show Awards for PROC TABULATE by Example, Second Edition.
