Illustrated with numerous real-world examples borrowed from a broad base of industries, Introduction to Design of Experiments with JMP Examples, Third Edition, employs a gentle, progressive approach to using designed experiments. The book covers basic ideas, terminology, and the application of techniques necessary to conduct a study using the design of experiments (DOE) framework. This edition addresses a wide array of designs, such as these:

  • full-factorial designs
  • fractional-factorial designs
  • response surface designs, including composite, Box-Behnken, and Doehlert designs
  • mixture designs
  • optimal designs
  • discrete-variable designs

The text is written for researchers and engineers who want to create well-organized experiments and obtain results that will yield the best possible information and insights. JMP software is integrated throughout the text and examples of the book, allowing you to solve problems efficiently, make decisions, and gain experience using JMP software. This title was previously published by Dunod under EAN 9782100056064.

author photo Jacques Goupy, Docteur ès sciences, is a consulting engineer for ReConFor and teaches experimental design both in industry and in schools of engineering throughout France and Europe. He is the author of countless articles and books on the subject of experimental design, including Pratiquer les plans d'expériences, Plans d'expériences pour surfaces de réponse, and Plans d'expériences: les mélanges. Dr. Goupy is founder and past-president of the Groupe Français de Chimiométrie and currently serves on the editorial board of the international scientific review Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems.

author photo Lee Creighton, is the documentation manager for the JMP Division at SAS Institute. Prior to working at SAS, Dr. Creighton taught high school and collegiate mathematics. He is the co-author of several books on statistical methods, including JMP Start Statistics and Regression Using JMP. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from North Carolina State University. He is currently interested in methods of teaching statistics, user interface design, and issues in localization.
