Learn how you can save countless hours of research and development time building your Web applications with the SAS/IntrNet Application Dispatcher. Author Don Henderson illustrates the multitude of features and capabilities available in the SAS/IntrNet Application Dispatcher and shows you how to take better advantage of these tools to make your tasks easier. This dynamic book features significant tips, techniques, and well-explained examples that you can immediately incorporate into your SAS/IntrNet Application Dispatcher Web applications. In addition to providing a solid overview of the SAS/IntrNet components, the book addresses major topics such as how the SAS/IntrNet Application Dispatcher works, developing Application Dispatcher programs, addressing common application requirements, integrating Application Dispatcher applications with other applications and environments, security, and debugging.

In addition, the book provides examples of many frequently requested application tasks, including generating static versions of dynamic reports, long-running requests, metadata-driven reporting, and packaging the Application Dispatcher as a Web service.

Throughout the book, best practices are also suggested. Macros that can simplify tasks and save many hours of coding are provided throughout this book. To get up and running quickly, visit the author's sample environment Web site at http://hcsbi.com/IntrNetAppDev/, which allows you to run the examples in the book, as well as download and install the featured tools and the SAS/IntrNet Application Dispatcher application environment that are illustrated in the book.

This book is ideal for users who have already built Web applications using the SAS/IntrNet Application Dispatcher as well as those users who want to learn more before attempting to build such applications. As a prerequisite, users should know how to write SAS programs and applications to solve their business requirements. Knowledge of Web technologies (e.g., HTML) as well as SAS facilities such as the macro facility and SCL is desirable, but not required.
