System Requirements
System requirements are dependent upon the SAS software application that you use in your course. Please review and verify that your computer meets the necessary system requirements before attempting to install a SAS software application.

System Requirements for SAS® Enterprise Guide®
Operating System(s)
Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Windows Vista Home - Basic, or Microsoft Windows Vista Home - Premium (32-bit or 64-bit). Macintosh operating systems are not supported.
Other versions of Microsoft Windows Vista might work with SAS® Enterprise Guide®, but have not been fully tested and, therefore, are not supported by SAS.
Internet Browser
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or earlier.
Other Internet Browsers might work, but have not been fully tested and, therefore, are not supported by SAS.
Hard Disk Space
Approximately 280 MB of free hard disk drive space.
Internet Connection Type
High-speed. High-speed connections include broadband (cable), DSL (phone), and wireless connections. However, your usage experience is dependent on the speed and reliability of the connection. For example, some wireless connections provide different rates or speed and reliability.
System Requirements for SAS® Enterprise MinerTM
Operating System(s)
Any system that supports the Sun Microsystems Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Typically, this includes Unix, Linux, and various Microsoft Windows operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista. Macintosh operating systems are not supported.
Java Runtime Environment
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.4.2_19. You will be prompted to check for this JRE and/or install it when you install SAS® Enterprise MinerTM.
Newer versions of the Java Runtime Environment might work with SAS® Enterprise MinerTM, but have not been officially recommended by SAS at this time. If you have a newer version, you can try it before you install JRE 1.4.2_19.
Internet Browser
Any browser that supports JRE 1.4.2_19.
Hard Disk Space
At least 50 MB of free hard disk drive space.

Operating System(s)
Microsoft Windows XP (with Service Pack 2), Microsoft Windows Vista (excluding Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic), or Macintosh OS X 10.5 or higher.
Internet Browser
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (for Microsoft Windows operating systems). Safari and Mozilla Firefox might be appropriate for Macintosh operating systems.
Other Internet Browsers might work, but have not been fully tested and, therefore, are not supported by SAS.
Random Access Memory (RAM)
At least 512 MB (1 GB recommended).
Hard Disk Space
At least 130 MB of free hard disk drive space (200 MB recommended).
