SAS® OnDemand for Academics

June 2013 Upgrade Information

During the weekend of June 22-23, the SAS® OnDemand for Academics servers will be upgraded from SAS 9.3M1 to SAS 9.3M2. Additionally, new versions of SAS® Enterprise Guide®, SAS® Enterprise MinerTM, and SAS® Forecast Server software will become available.

SAS OnDemand for Academics will not be available for use during part or all of this weekend. Please review the following information to prepare for this upgrade.

Note: This page will be updated with the most current information as it becomes available.

SAS Enterprise Guide Users

During the weekend of June 22-23, SAS Enterprise Guide Version 6.1 will become available. The current version (Version 4.3) will continue to operate. However, all new users will receive SAS Enterprise Guide Version 6.1 by default. If you have Version 4.3, you can upgrade to Version 6.1. For more details, see: Accessing SAS Enterprise Guide Version 6.1.

Note: SAS Enterprise Guide Version 6.1 does not support Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista, or any 32-bit Microsoft Windows operating system. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium and above (64-bit), and Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) are the only supported operating systems.

SAS Enterprise Guide will not be able to connect to and use the hosted servers during the upgrade process.

SAS Enterprise Miner Users

During the weekend of June 22-23, SAS Enterprise Miner Version 12.1 will become available. The current version (Version 7.1) will no longer be available. There is nothing that you need to do to prepare. You will automatically receive Version 12.1 and any projects that you have created with Version 7.1 will be available for use in Version 12.1.

Note that SAS Enterprise Miner will not be usable during this time period.

SAS Forecast Server Users

During the weekend of June 22-23, SAS Forecast Server Version 12.1 will become available. The current version (Version 4.1) will no longer be available. There is nothing that you need to do to prepare. You will automatically receive Version 12.1 and any projects that you have created with Version 4.1 will be available for use in Version 12.1.

Note that SAS Forecast Server will not be usable during this time period.

SAS Web Editor Users

SAS Web Editor will continue to be available after the upgrade. There is nothing that you need to do to prepare.

Note that SAS Web Editor will not be usable during the upgrade period (June 22-23).

JMP Users

JMP will continue to operate during and after the upgrade. There is nothing that you need to do to prepare. If you use JMP to access the SAS OnDemand for Academics hosted servers, please be aware that this functionality will be unavailable during the upgrade period (June 22-23).
