arrowWhat software and browser do I need on my computer to use SAS® OnDemand for K-12?

You will need Windows with Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater.

arrowWhen can I access SAS® OnDemand for K-12?

The application can be accessed at any time. Please be aware that the application cannot be accessed during scheduled maintenance which takes place every third weekend each month for a few hours.

arrowWho in my district can access SAS® OnDemand for K-12?

Currently, the superintendent makes the decision of which individuals within a district's central office has access.

arrowCan I access SAS® OnDemand for K-12 from anywhere?

Absolutely. The application can be accessed from any district network location where a high-speed internet connection is available.

arrowI have an email that gives me a temporary password. Will this temporary password give me access to the application?

The temporary password will not give you access to the application. Use it to create a password of your own choosing by following the directions in the email. Watch the video now   (Duration: 1:57)

arrowCan I send student level information?

Student level information can be sent to SAS provided that the identifier column that is used to identify the student is not a social security number or a name. An example of an acceptable student identifier is a district identification number that is unique to the student.

arrowCan I send teacher level information?

Teacher level information can be sent to SAS provided that the identifier column that is used to identify the teacher is not a name or social security number. An example of an acceptable teacher identifier isa district identification number that is unique to the teacher.

arrowHow will data be uploaded from my district to the SAS® OnDemand K-12 portal?

The district is provided a secure file transfer protocol (FTP) site to which data can be uploaded by a district's designated technical contact.

arrowHow often is my school district's data uploaded?

This happens monthly at a time mutually agreed upon between the district and the SAS project team. Typically the district selects a time when regular updating in the district occurs.

arrowOnce I submit my district's data, how long does it take for the information to be updated?

Please allow 24 hours for your district's information to update in the application.

arrowWhat kinds of data formats can SAS® OnDemand for K-12 accept?

In general the application can accept most forms of data. Common data formats include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Excel Files (*.xls), Comma Separated Files (*.csv), Text Files (*.txt) and Microsoft Database Files (*.mdb).

arrowHow do I properly prepare my data before sending it to SAS?

It is not appropriate to send social security numbers or student names to SAS. Please watch the instructional video to review the steps of how to properly prepare data before sending. Watch the video now  (Duration: 4:09 minutes).

arrowHow do I transfer files??

Transferring files to SAS is similar to the process of attaching documents in an email. Watch the video now  (Duration: 2:01 minutes).

arrowBecause I have Excel 2007, my files are saved in a .xlsx format. But this is a data format SAS OnDemand for K-12 does not accept. What can I do?

Simply save your .xlsx file as a .csv file. This option can be found under the Save As command. Follow these steps: File -> Save As -> Other Formats -> choose .csv.
