SAS Programming Institute for High School Educators
Join a growing network of teachers and school districts interested in providing students with an advantage in their college
and career aspirations. SAS, the leader in business analytics software, now offers a course in SAS Programming for High
School.
High school teachers apply their new skills and explore activities in the SAS Programming Course. |
To prepare teachers to teach the course, SAS offers a five day intensive train-the-teacher program at our Cary, NC
headquarters. The training, instructional materials and software for classroom instruction are offered at no charge for
teachers enrolled in the training. The 2009 training takes place August 3-7. Applications and registrations must be
received by July 20, 2009 to secure a place for the 2009 session.
SAS Programming 1 for High School is now available for classroom use. SAS Programming 2 for High School will be available
in August 2010 enabling students who register for both classes to qualify for completer status. SAS offers an
internationally recognized
certification exam which correlates with the high school
courses.
Dr. Jim Goodnight, (center) SAS CEO, congratulates teachers who completed the workshop in August 2008. |
SAS provides complete, pilot-tested curricula but encourages instructors to create instructional projects and exercises on
their own to share with a growing community of high school SAS teachers. The course is designed to be taught in the block
schedule (90 days with 1½-hour sessions) or in 180 days (45-minute sessions taught daily).
The SAS Programming for High School courses are recognized by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, the
South Carolina Department of Education, and a growing number of state education agencies as part of the coursework for CTE,
business education, career academies, etc. For information about how your state can get involved, please contact
