I have reviewed the requirements below with my principal and/or district staff, and we can satisfy the following requirements.

Teacher Qualifications

Yes No	1. 2 years of experience teaching at least one other programming language i.e. Visual Basic, C++, java. HTML only experience is insufficient
Yes No	2. Available to attend the summer training session on SAS Campus in Cary, NC on August 3 - 7, 2009.
Yes No	3. I agree to participate in an online community to share information and experiences with other SAS Programming teachers.
Yes No	4. I certify that I have read the materials describing the SAS Teacher Institute and that I have answered the related questions honestly to the best of my knowledge.

School or District Requirements

Yes No	1. Ability to include SAS programming in the '09 - 10 school year. 1 semester on the block schedule or 1 full year on a regular schedule. Course completion equals 1 full credit.
Yes No	2. Students will have daily access to a computer lab with the minimum technical specs: OS: Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows XP or Vista RAM: 256 MB or more Processor: Intel or Intel-compatible Pentium II class processor or better Hard Drive Space: 40 GB
Yes No	3. My school is located in or near a city with corporations who use SAS, providing internship possibilities for students and opportunities to meet employees familiar with SAS. (preferred, but not required)
Yes No	4. I understand that this program is constantly evolving and improving and that course materials may be revised and updated based on teacher input and student feedback.

Please answer the following questions:

Instructional Strategies and Training: In this hands-on workshop you will learn the basics of SAS programming, how to access help and documentation and how SAS programming is similar to other languages you may already know. You will also learn best practices; discover how this training connects to students' academic and career goals.
Software: License for Base SAS, SAS/GRAPH & SAS/Access to PC Files for 30 computers for no charge.
Meals: SAS will provide lunch every day and dinner for one night.
A certificate documenting completion of the SAS Programming for High School Class. (May be used to gain Continuing Education Credits (CEUs), depending upon district guidelines.)
Invitation to participate in feedback surveys and an online teacher network of SAS educators.
Networking time to make new acquaintances and connect with leading educators from across the US.
The option of taking the SAS Base Certification Exam for a reduced rate of $75.
