SAS Programming 1 for High School - summer training program for teachers

The SAS Programming 1 for High School course teaches students how to prepare data for analysis and write SAS programs to solve problems. During this 5-day training course, teachers will learn SAS programing as well as how to teach this exciting course.

Program eligibility

Must be able to attend all 5 days of the SAS Programming 1 for High School training course for teachers which will be held at SAS World Headquarters, Cary, NC, June 24-28, 2013
Must be a current high school teacher with plans to teach this course within the following school year
Must meet the requirements as indicated below

Training information

The following is included in the training program (approx. value over $3500):

Instructional Strategies and Training: learn the basics of SAS programming, how to access help and documentation, how SAS programming is similar to other languages you may already know, learn best practices and discover how this training connects to students' academic and career goals.
Software: License for Base SAS, SAS/GRAPH, and SAS/Access to PC Files for 30 computers for no charge.
Meals: SAS will provide breakfast and lunch every day and dinner for one night.
A certificate documenting completion of the SAS Programming for High School Course. (May be used to gain Continuing Education Credits (CEUs), depending upon district guidelines.)
Networking time to make new acquaintances and connect with leading educators from across the US.
You and your students will also be eligible for academic discounts on the SAS Base Certification Exam (certification opportunities are completely optional).

Teacher Qualifications

Yes No	1. I have at least 2 years of experience teaching at least one other programming language i.e. Visual Basic, C++, Java, Python. HTML only experience is insufficient. Additional applicable experience or languages:

School or District Requirements

Yes No	1. Ability to include SAS programming in the upcoming school year. One semester on the block schedule or one full year on a regular schedule. Course completion equals one full credit.

Students will have daily access to a computer lab with the minimum technical specs: OS: Microsoft Windows (32-bit): Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista , Windows 7 OR Microsoft Windows on x64 (64-bit): Windows XP Professional for x64, Windows Vista for x64, Windows 7 for x64. Windows Vista and Windows 7 supported editions are: Enterprise, Ultimate and Business RAM: 512 MB or more Processor: Intel or Intel-compatible Pentium IV class processor or better Hard Drive Space: 40 GB If daily access is not available, please describe the type and frequency of access:
