Usage Note 8999: Overlapping or scrambled plot lines on ITSV plots
When an ITSV plot uses a BY variable (also called a class variable),
lines may overlap or appear scrambled. It is important to adhere to
the following rules:
1. The variables in the plot must be sorted using the same BY statement
as the table. For example, if the table is sorted in this way:
BY MACHINE DEVICE DATETIME
then the BY statement for the plot must be
BY MACHINE DEVICE
2. A time period summarization other than ASIS must be specified.
The default behavior (no BY statement, time period ASIS)
may produce overlapping or scambled plot lines.
