When you install SAS 9 and Release 8.2 is already installed, the
following error message might appear:

   The SAS System could not get metrics for the font "Sasfont".

The font is the default display font for the SAS System. The SAS System
should not be used until the problem is corrected.

This failure is probably caused by the font being corrupted or by
Windows being low on virtual memory.

To reinstall the font:

   1. Double-click on the font in the Control Panel and re-install the
      SAS System fonts.
      Click File -> Install New Font. Point to the SAS system fonts on
      the CD-ROM drive or server drive.
      SAS System fonts are located in the sas\core\resources
      directory. The following list the specific locations for the
      various types of installations:
         a. Client installation - !sasroot\core\resources
         b. Personal installation - !sasroot\core\resources
         c. Personal administrator installation -
            Disk101\sas\core\resources
    2. Reboot the Windows operating system.
    3. Check the virtual memory on the system.
    4. Uninstall the SAS System from the Add/Remove programs from the
       Control Panel and reinstall SAS.
