Problem Note 8718: Enterprise Guide 2.0 may crash when using shortcuts to data from a
binder within a query.
Attempting to use a shortcut to data from a binder in an Enterprise
Guide Version 2.0 query may result in an error message or the Enterprise
Guide session crashing.
The following steps will replicate the problem:
1. Create a binder with shortcuts to sashelp.class and sashelp.air
on a remote SAS object server in the Administrator application.
2. In Enterprise Guide, add the sashelp.class dataset to the project
using the binder.
3. Create a query using the active dataset.
4. Perform a join by clicking the add data button.
5. From the list on the left hand side of the dialog select Binders.
6. Open the binder, select the Air shortcut and click OK.
7. The Enterprise Guide session will crash with the following
error:
An application error has occurred and an application error
log is being generated. seguide.exe exception: access violation
(0xc0000005), address: 0x0126bb9d
To circumvent the problem, add the datasource to the binder instead of
using a shortcut.
