Problem Note 8438: Large text files may import very slowly using Enterprise Guide
Large text files may import very slowly when using Enterprise Guide.
This poor performance may occur when the text file is on a remote server
and the same file on the local client will import much more quickly. The
problem occurs because Enterprise Guide is making a full copy of the
text file and moving it to the client before doing the import.
The best solution is to use PROC IMPORT code when working with large
text files that reside on a remote server.
