Problem Note 8160: "Invalid item code or option code" using PARAM= on FILENAME statement
If you specify a FILENAME statement on OpenVMS that routes output
directly to a printer, and you use the printer option PARAM=, an error
will occur.
For example, the following FILENAME statement:
filename prt printer param=("sides=1","page_orientation=portrait");
produces the error below:
"ERROR: Invalid item code or option code."
"ERROR: No file(s) printed."
