Problem Note 7626: SAS IOM Server requires manual intervention to cancel orphaned or "hung"
SAS process
If a client, such as Enterprise Guide, is abnormally terminated with a
SAS/Integration Technlogies IOM server, an orphaned or hung SAS process
may remain on the SAS Server.
In some cases, the orphaned process may utilize CPU and require manual
intervention to be cancelled. In other cases, the orphaned process may
automatically cancel after a certain period of time. The cancellation
period is determined by a TCP environment variable (SO_KEEPALIVE). The
default value is 2 hours and 10 minutes.
If you do a NETSTAT ALL on the connection, the SockOpt field will show
what options are set on that socket. x'04' is SO_KEEPALIVE.

issue is available at:
