Beginning in Release 8.1 TSLEVEL 1M0, specifying the system or data
set option COMPRESS=BINARY may cause problems.  Typically only data
sets with "wide" observations (i.e.  containing a large number of
variables) are susceptible to this problem.

To circumvent the problem, specify COMPRESS=YES|CHAR.  Note that
compression for data sets containing a large number of numeric
variables may not be as effective as with COMPRESS=BINARY.
