Problem Note 6117: Communication subsystem failure XVT is already active
In Version 8 of the SAS System and above, if a SAS/SHARE server uses
both XMS and TCP as the communication access method and the SAS/SHARE
server comes up before TCP/IP is initialized, the server will terminate
with a RC=8 and possibly an errno=ENETDOWN. When the SAS/SHARE server
is restarted, the following error message is generated:
ERROR: XMS Communication Failure: network identifier XVT is already
active.
This problem can be circumvented by IPLing the system and ensuring TCP
is initialized before SAS/SHARE comes up or by defining a new subsysid
or a new serverid.
