Usage Note 5997: Access AS400 data using Access Interface to ODBC can cause
ERROR:[merant][ODBC driver][DB2/400] Keyword FOR not expected.
When using SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC to access AS400 data through
Merant Sequelink you may encounter the following error:
ERROR:[MERANT][ODBC driver][DB2/400] Keyword FOR not expected.
This problem will occur when issuing a SELECT statement, and it occurs
because the Merant Sequelink driver adds a 'FOR READ-ONLY' clause to the
prepared SELECT statement even though SAS has already add 'FOR
READ-ONLY'.
Currently the only workaround for this problem would be to use an
alternate ODBC driver to access your AS400 data. The IBM provided AS400
ODBC driver does not show this problem
