Usage Note 5506: Importing from Excel 97 or 2000 where the sheet name contains an &
fails.
Importing an Excel 97 or 2000 workbook where the sheet name contains an
&
results in the following WARNING and ERROR messages:
WARNING: Apparent symbolic reference * not resolved.
ERROR: Import unsuccessful. See SAS Log for details.
Where * is the alphanumeric after the & in the sheet name.
The current work around is to remove the & from the sheet name.
