The sample code on the Full Code tab illustrates how to add code to a DS2 package to return the creation date when the package is invoked.

The sample code includes these steps:

1. The PATHNAME function retrieves the path associated with the libref pointing to the package location.
2. The FILENAME function associates the fileref of ONEFILE with the package location and name returned from the PATHNAME function.
3. The FOPEN function opens the file returned from the FILENAME function.
4. FINFO along with the CREATE TIME attribute retrieves the creation date of the package opened from the FOPEN function and creates macro variable &Createdt.
5. The FCLOSE function closes the file.
6. The final FILENAME function clears out the fileref of ONEFILE.

The PUT statement along with the %TSLIT macro is used to quote the macro variable (&Createdt) and write the value out to the SAS^® log.
