In SAS^® Enterprise Miner™, when you try to create a project, the following error might be displayed:

Error
The application could not log on to the server.  The server process terminated unexpectedly with exit value 115.

The most common cause of this error is an expired license involving SAS Enterprise Miner. You can verify whether your license is expired by following these steps:

1. On the same machine where you are encountering this error, launch Base SAS^®. Example: Start ► All Programs ► SAS ► SAS 9.4 (English).

2. Within Base SAS, enter and run the following code:

   proc setinit; run; proc product_status; run;

   Examine the results. Note the expiration date.

If your license has been expired for some time, then it is possible that you are not able to launch Base SAS. In that case, you encounter an error message. If this happens, please provide a screenshot.

If the software is expired, then contact the SAS site rep at your site for information about how to obtain an updated license file.
