Problem Note 54654: Default and updated c3p0 properties are not honored for the SAS® Digital Marketing Server
SAS Digital Marketing applies connection pooling to achieve efficient database access. You can improve the performance by updating the c3p0.properties files. However, for the SAS Digital Marketing Server, the default values in the c3p0.properties file and any updates that you make to this file are not honored. This behavior might cause poor performance.
To work around this problem, update your sem.conf or wrapper.conf files (or the startsrv script, with Java arguments) as appropriate to your site. The numbering sequence for the wrapper.java.additional.n= arguments should be as appropriate to your existing file. The following entries are the recommended default values:
wrapper.java.additional.18=-Dc3p0.acquireRetryDelay=1000
wrapper.java.additional.19=-Dc3p0.numHelperThreads=4
wrapper.java.additional.20=-Dc3p0.maxPoolSize=25
wrapper.java.additional.21=-Dc3p0.acquireRetryAttempts=5
wrapper.java.additional.22=-Dc3p0.acquireIncrement=1
This functionality works correctly for the c3p0.properties files that reside in the sdm.war and bess.war files.
For more information about configuring the c3p0.properties files, contact SAS Technical Support.
