In the Windows operating environment, when you are logging on to the SAS Environment Manager, you might receive the following security alert:

This error might occur when you try to log on to the SAS Environment Manager with a host account and use the domain\user format. The SAS Environment Manager does not recognize user names in the domain\user format. Instead, you should log on using user@domain.

Before you can log on with user@domain, you need to perform these additional steps:

1. Open SAS^® Management Console.
2. Select the User Manager Plugin.
3. Locate the user for whom you want to grant access to SAS Environment Manager with their user@domain account.
4. Right-click the user and select Properties.
5. Click the Accounts tab.
6. Click New to add a new account.
7. Provide the user@domain account for the user ID (no password is required).
8. Click New beside the Authentication Domain.
9. In the Name field, add a new authentication domain called EVAuth.
10. Click OK to exit from all open dialog boxes in SAS Management Console.
11. Re-sync users in SAS Environment Manager by navigating to Manage ► Synchronize Users.
12. Now try logging on to SAS Environment Manager using the newly added user ID and the user@domain account format.
