Problem Note 52325: Unexpected behavior occurs following the entry of an invalid parameter in a Process node in a SAS® Marketing Automation campaign
You might see unexpected behavior after you enter an invalid parameter in a Process node within a SAS Marketing Automation campaign.
You might see this behavior in the following scenarios:
- You enter a value into a text parameter field within a Process node. The value that you enter is a valid value, meaning that it is a value that will not cause the underlying stored process to fail. You then click the running-man icon in the bottom left corner of the Process node Properties window in order to update counts. The counts are shown in the Process node as expected.
-
You then change the value in the text parameter field (perhaps by mistake) to be an invalid value, meaning that the value will cause the underlying stored process to fail. You then click the running-man icon in the bottom left corner of the Process node Properties window in order to update counts. As expected, an error message is shown indicating an error in the underlying stored process.
-
You then close this error message window, and without changing the value in the text parameter field, you click the running-man icon in the bottom left corner of the Process node. The expected result is that the error message appears again. Instead, no error message appears. A count is shown in the Process node and the previous valid value is shown again in the text parameter field.
You can work around this problem by closing the
Process node, reopening the node, and entering a valid parameter value.
