Problem Note 5696: ERROR: READ ACCESS VIOLATION IN TASK [DATASTEP] message
Beginning in Version 8 TSLEVEL M0, a program that contains many
statements (typically generated by a macro), may fail with one of the
following messages:
ERROR:READ ACCESS VIOLATION IN TASK [ DATASTEP ]
or:
ERROR: BUS ERROR IN TASK [ DATASTEP ]
The errors are caused by a failed attempt to flush in-memory buffers
to disk in response to a memory shortage.
This problem is corrected in SAS 9 TSLEVEL M0 and beyond.
