Problem Note 5353: Problems with PROC PROTO and externally written functions
In Version 8.1 of the SAS/System, problems may occur when using RISK
Dimensions on an AIX platform with externally written user functions.
Problems will occur if PROC PROTO is used with externally written
functions that contain greater than 8 arguments. Typically PROC PROTO
will execute successfully but problems will occur when the external
function is called from the analysis. Possible symptoms include: system
crash, bad return code from external function call, good return code
from external function call but incorrect results. The results are
unpredictable.
