Problem Note 5135: PROC MIXED Produces Incorrect Satterthwaite or KR Degrees of Freedom
with TYPE=FA0(2) on RANDOM Statement and a profile residual variance
PROC MIXED will produce incorrect Satterthwaite or KR degrees of freedom
when TYPE=FA0(2) is specified on the RANDOM statement and the residual
variance is profiled (e.g. no REPEATED statement in the PROC MIXED
code). Both of these conditions must hold for the degrees of freedom to
be incorrect.
There is no circumvention for this problem.
