When you are migrating your system from SAS^® 9.2 to SAS^® 9.3, you might receive errors during the configuration of the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform.

This SAS Configuration Failure error might appear:

You might see this error in your webinfpltfm_ImportDatabase.log, which is located in the configuration_directory\Lev#\Logs\Configure directory:

Cause

In Oracle, in the SAS_COMMENT table, the COMMENT_TXT column is defined as a CLOB, whereas in the SAS Framework Data Server, the COMMENT_TXT column is defined as a LONGVARCHAR.

A data adapter is needed to convert from a CLOB to a LONGVARCHAR.

Solution

To work around this issue, you need to do a new installation and then use the promotion tools to promote the data from SAS 9.2 to SAS 9.3. This is fixed in SAS 9.3 (TS1M2) revision 12W35 and later.
