If your report is using SAS^® Scalable Performance Data Server^® data, then you might see a syntax error similar to the following:

SPDS_ERROR: SQL passthru expression contained errors.
ERROR: SPDS Sql Passthru Error.

If you look at the (pooled) workspace server log, you might see SPDS_ERROR: Parse Failure.

This combination of errors might occur if the generated query includes a PUT statement that includes a ?, as shown in the following example:

There are two ways to prevent the error:

• Edit the JVM arguments for your Web application server to include the following argument:
-DSASQueryServices.sasDisablePutQ=true
• Manually modify the data item expression in the information map to use the PUT function without the ?.
