Problem Note 45341: SQL errors occur when you query a DB2 database server running on an iSeries (AS/400) system

The following errors might occur when you attempt to join DB2 data from a DB2 database server that is running on an IBM iSeries (AS/400) system:
SAS_SQL: Engine does not allow mix of an outer join with other kind of join.
SAS_SQL: Unable to convert the query to a DBMS specific SQL statement due to an error.
SAS_SQL: Unable to convert the query to a DBMS specific SQL statement due to an error.
This problem causes significant performance issues.
To work around this issue, do one of the following:
- Split up the query into individual queries.
- Rewrite the query to use explicit pass-through processing.
- Do not use an AS/400 iSeries DB2 database. That is, move your DB2 data to a DB2 database that resides on a UNIX system, a PC, or mainframe.
