Problem Note 43210: "Drill Through Details" returns no data in a Microsoft Excel PivotTable for a SAS® OLAP cube when "Select Multiple Items" is enabled for a filter
Using the SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office to display a SAS OLAP cube using the Microsoft Excel PivotTable, you might experience a problem displaying detail data.
Specifically, if you attempt to drill-through using the SAS menu option Drill Through Details when you have a filter defined to the slicer dimension with Select multiple items enabled, your drill-through results might return no rows.
You might also receive an error like the following:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800A03EC): Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC

You can circumvent this behavior in one of two ways:
- Starting with SAS Add-In 4.3 for Microsoft Office, you can open the cube using the SAS OLAP Analyzer instead of the Excel PivotTable.
- Drill-through by selecting Show Details off the pop-up menu instead of Drill Through Details. The Show Details option is available starting with Microsoft Office 2007.
A hot fix is planned for this issue.
