Problem Note 42402: An error occurs when you use the IDXWHERE= or IDXNAME= data set options with a concatenated SAS/SHARE® Remote Library Services library

The following error can occur when you use the IDXWHERE= or the IDXNAME= data set options with a libref for a REMOTE engine library that is referenced in another LIBNAME statement that logically concatenates libraries.
ERROR: Never seen.
The problem occurs when you submit code similar to the following:
libname libref server=shr1;
libname alias (libref);
data libref(keep=i j index=(i));
do i=1 to 100000; j=ranuni(i)
output;
end;
stop;
run;
proc print data=alias.m(idxname=i);
run;
The following related problems might also occur:
- If the index that is used is numeric, your SAS session might crash.
- After the error message is issued, you might not be able to clear the libref that is causing the problem.
To avoid this problem, use the REMOTE engine libref directly instead of the concatenated libref (ALIAS in the previous code example).
