Sample 41590: Adding a custom message to the SAS® Log On page in SAS 9.2
Overview
The SAS Logon Manager application enables you to customize a message on the log out and time-out pages for applications such as SAS® Web Report Studio, as explained in Sample 36785. However, there is no built-in mechanism for displaying a custom message on the SAS Log On page in SAS 9.2. This sample explains how you can achieve this goal in SAS 9.2.
Note: This functionality is available in SAS® 9.3 and later. For details, see the documentation for the version that you are using.
Note: This change requires modifying a .jsp file that will be overwritten by maintenance updates and new versions. Keep a backup copy so that you can restore the message if needed.
Create the message
- Find the following file on the machine where your middle tier is installed:
[SAS-Install]\SASWebInfrastructurePlatform\9.2\Static\wars\sas.svcs.logon\logon.jsp
- Make a backup of the logon.jsp file, so that you can restore it if necessary.
- In the logon.jsp file, insert the message you would like. Do not change any of the code other than inserting your text. The
logon.jsp
file is a mixture of custom tags and HTML code, with most of the content displayed within the table. Compare the table in the JSP code to the HTML source of the SAS Log On page to determine where you would like to insert a custom message.
- Rebuild the SAS® Web Infrastructure Platform. For instructions, see Rebuild One or More Web Applications.
- Redeploy the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform, following the directions for your Web application server under Redeploying the SAS Web Applications.
- Open the SAS Log On page to ensure that your changes were implemented as expected. Make any changes as necessary.
