If you use AVG Anti-Virus software, the Resident Shield component of the application might cause errors during the Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) download process for SAS software. The AVG Anti-Virus software might stop files from being created or moved during the ESD.

During the download process, a screen similar to the following one might appear:

The following error message might write to the SDW.log file:

The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a 
user-mapped section open.

To resolve this issue in AVG Anti-Virus 9.0, perform the following steps:

1. Select Resident Shield.
2. Click Manage exceptions. The Advanced AVG Settings dialog box appears.
3. Select Resident Shield ► Directory Excludes.
4. Click Add Path and navigate to the directory location where you will download the SAS Software Depot to.
5. Click OK.

After the settings have been changed, perform the ESD download again.

Note: The same noted behavior might also occur with antivirus software called 'ESET NOD32'. To allow the download, you should exclude the SAS Software Depot folder by modifying the Advanced Setup ► Web Access Protection properties in the 'ESET NOD32' antivirus software.
